Here are 10 spine surgeons and neurosurgeons who were featured in the news over this past week.

Alexander Vaccaro, MD, was named editor-in-chief of the Journal of Spinal Disorders & Techniques.

 

Jeannette Liu, MD, joined Longview Regional Medical Center in Texas from Berkshire Health Systems in Massachusetts.

 

Neurosurgeon Joseph Ciacci, MD, was featured in a local WNDU report talking about his work with stem cell treatment for patients who are suffering from paralysis from spinal cord injury.

 

Spine surgeon Nitin Bhatia, MD, was mentioned in an OC Register report for performing spine surgery on former Los Angeles Angel Jon Wilhite who suffered internal decapitation in a car accident. The surgery occurred in 2009 and Mr. Wilhite recently returned to Angels camp, with a tattoo of Dr. Bhatia's signature on his neck.

 

Neurosurgeon Glenn B. Anderson, MD, joined Houston Methodist Neurological Institute at Willowbrook.

 

Flagstaff (Ariz.) Medical Center named orthopedic spine surgeon Michael Glover, MD, the 2015 Nathan Avery Physician of the Year.

 

Heartland Spine Institute's Franklin Hayward II, DO, was featured in a local news report for completing the first surgery at Missouri Delta Medical Center using the Kiva VCF Treatment System.
