Dr. Humphreys and his group are also working to organize the team's efforts under a 501c3 nonprofit, with the working title of Kenai Spine Gives Back, according to the report.

Dr. Humphreys is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Spinal Injury Association. He completed fellowship training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
