Frederick, Md.-based American Spine is launching plasma rich platelet therapy and stem cell therapy treatments as part of its regenerative medicine program.
PRP and stem cell therapy treatments are beneficial as its involves the use of the patient's own whole blood, bone marrow stem cells and adipose stem cells, and thus avoids the risk of rejection or infection from other donors. They can be used to treat a wide array of injuries, including muscle tears, meniscus and ACL injuries, tennis and golf elbow, patellofemoral pain syndrome, various types of tendonitis and plantar fasciitis.
