Here are 21 spine surgeons and neurosurgeons that recently joined a new practice or medical center, or were promoted within their organization.

 

Neurosurgeon and former Naval Commander Samuel Critides Jr., MD, joined Sacred Heart Medical Group in Pensacola, Fla.

 

Joliet, Ill.-based Meridian Medical Associates welcomed spine surgeon Dalip Pelinkovic, MD, to its physician team.

 

Fellowship-trained spine surgeon Joseph Blythe, DO, joined Heritage Medical Center in Shelbyville, Tenn.

 

Spine surgeon Joseph Smucker, MD, joined Indian Spine Group in Carmel after previously serving as an assistant professor in the department of orthopedics and rehabilitation faculty at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

 

Adebukola Oniokun, MD, opened San Jose (Calif.) Nerospine.

 

Three neurosurgeons — Mayshan Ghiassi, MD; Mahan Ghiassi, MD; and John Barr, MDjoined Washington Regional Medical Center's new Northwest Arkansas Neurosciences Institute in Fayetteville.

 

Orthopedic spine surgeon Chibuikem Akammonu, MD, joined FLH Medical, P.C. Orthopedic Surgery in Geneva, N.Y.

 

The University of Nevada named Michael Daubs, MD, orthopedic residency program chair.

 

Tampa Bay Neurosurgery & Spine Specialists in Brandon, Fla., welcomed neurosurgeon Tien V. Le, MD.

 

Neurospine surgeon Bryan Bolinger, DO, joined Geisinger-Lewistown (Pa.) Hospital.

 

San Rosa Orthopaedics named Christian Athanassious, MD, the spine program co-director.

 

Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C., welcomed Mark Foster, DO.

 

Philadelphia-based Rothman Institute elected spine surgeon Alexander Vaccaro, MD, president.

 

Laser Spine Institute welcomed Jeffrey F. Shall, MD, to its new Cleveland location and Thomas Francavilla, MD, to its Cincinnati location.

 

Spine surgeon Paul D. Lane Jr., MD, affiliated with South Georgia Medical Center.

 

Spine surgeon James Perry, MD, joined Vail (Colo.)-Summit Orthopaedics.

 

Dayton, Ohio-based Wright State Physicians Orthopaedics welcomed Mark Kayanja, MD, PhD, an orthopedic spine surgeon who previously practiced with The CORE Institute in Phoenix.

 

Erkan Alci, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon, joined Coastal Orthopedics in Conway, S.C.
