Washington Regional Medical Center opens neuroscience institute, adds 3 neurosurgeons

Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark., opened the $7 million Northwest Arkansas Neuroscience Institute, according to a NWA Online report.

The institute includes a 1,545-square-foot surgical suite. It has added three new neurosurgeons — Mayshan Ghiassi, MD; Mahan Ghiassi, MD; and John Barr, MD. The surgeons join Larry Armstrong, DO, and Brandon Evans, MD.

 

Dr. Mayshan Ghiassi focuses on endovascular, cerebrovascular, brain tumor/skull base and minimally invasive spine surgery. Dr. Mahan Ghiassi has a professional interest in the treatment of vascular and neoplastic lesions of the brain and spine. Dr. Barr's clinical interests include complex spine, cerebrovascular and brain tumor surgery.
