Dr. John Adler Launches Open Source Medical Journal

John Adler, MD, a neurosurgeon from Stanford, launched a medical journal to make research more accessible to the public, according to the Stanford School of Medicine blog Scope. Dr. Adler's journal, Cureus, would use crowd sourcing to produce an online, open source journal to share research findings. Researchers could publish their findings within days and it would be free to everyone, according to the report.

Dr. Adler is an emeritus faculty member from the department of neurology. His clinical focuses are neurological surgery and neurosurgery. He is also the founder and a member of the board of directors for Accuracy, a medical device manufacturer. Dr. Adler completed a residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital at the Harvard Medical School and at Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed a fellowship at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and at Harvard.
