Evangelical Community Hospital's The Center for Orthopaedics in Lewisburg, Pa., received a $50,000 grant from Williamsport-Lycoming Community Fund for constructing a new orthopedics and spine care center, which is expected to be completed in early 2013.

Holland (Mich.) Hospital
has started building a new orthopedic, spine and neurosurgery unit which is expected to cost around $10 million and move 24 semi-private rooms to the new wing as private rooms.

Humble (Texas) Surgical Hospital
, a physician-owned hospital established in 2010, acquired the Mazor Robotics Renaissance robotic spine surgery system.

Kansas Spine Hospital
in Wichita began a $1.5 million expansion to add two operating rooms after increasing admissions 52 percent since 2009. Hospital officials plan to spend $500,000 on equipment-related expenses.

Mission Health based in Asheville, N.C., partnered with Carolina Spine and Neurosurgery Center after working collaboratively for many years. The two hope the partnership will enhance neurological and spine care in western North Carolina.

North Fulton Hospital
outside of Atlanta opened a 52,000-square-foot medical building for outpatient spine care, pain management and imaging.

NorthShore University HealthSystem based in Evanston, Ill., opened an ambulatory surgery center in Gurnee, Ill., that includes neurosurgery and orthopedics.

St. Luke's Hospital
in Duluth, Minn., has opened a new $27 million medical facility that includes neurosurgery, orthopedics and sports medicine.

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children
in Dallas received a $2 million permanent endowment for spine research, fellowship and training, which established the Leuna C. Sullivan, Don L. Hicks and The Gordon Sondland and Katherine J. Durant Fund Distinguished Chair in Spine.

Wellington (Fla.) Regional Medical Center
, part of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services, has opened a new facility that provides additional space for several specialties, including neurosurgery and orthopedics.
