ISASS Urges Members to Support Reimbursement for Spinal Fusions

Chair of the Coding and Reimbursement Task Force for the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery Morgan Lorio, MD, released a letter urging ISASS members to support action regarding reimbursement for lumbar fusions.

The Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality issued a notice requesting comments on spinal fusions for patients with degenerative disc or joint disease. In the letter, Dr. Lorio encourages spine surgeons to send a letter of support, article, case experience or testimonial to the AHRQ.

The deadline for response is Tuesday, Feb. 21.
