Indiana University Honors Dr. Joseph Maroon for Contributions to Sports Medicine, Neurosurgery

Joseph C. Maroon, MD, professor and vice chair of the department of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine was recently honored by Indiana University with the Distinguished Alumni Service Award.

Dr. Maroon completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at Indiana University. He was honored for his contributions to sports medicine and neurosurgery. During his career, he authored more than 275 peer reviewed publications.

Dr. Maroon is one of five individuals to receive this award.
