Researchers analyzed all patients in the American College of Surgeon’s National Quality Improvement database who underwent anterior cervical discectomy and fusion in 2011.
Researchers found that the nationwide readmission rate after ACDF surgery was 2.5 percent. The study also found that hypertension may independently increase the likelihood of readmission outside of any effect on complications.
