3. Dennis Roop, MD, director of The Charles C. Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Biology at the University of Denver, will discuss development in dermatology. Dr. Roop aims to use reprogramming technology to treat inherited skin disease, and hopes the techniques will be cleared for clinical trials in a few years.
4. Vikas Patel, MD, chief of orthopedic spine surgery at the University of Colorado in Boulder, will speak about translating discoveries made through animal studies to humans.
5. The panel’s third speaker, William Hiatt, MD, professor of medicine in the division of cardiology and president of the Colorado Prevention Center, will focus on cardiology developments.
