Craig Hospital raises $73 million for expansion — 5 notes

Englewood, Colo.-based Craig Hospital raised $73 million in capital to expand and help patients pay for care, according to Business Den.

Here are five notes:

 

1. Craig Hospital specializes in spinal cord and brain injury rehabilitation.

 

2. The hospital will use some of the funds to finance a construction project that will expand the hospital from 135,000 square feet to 220,000 square feet.

 

3. Exceeding its $68 million goal, Craig Hospital sought donations from former patients and donors.

 

4. Construction began in August 2014, adding a fourth floor to the original structure and opening a two-story annex called PEAK Wellness center.

 

5. Craig Hospital will allot $50 million for construction, and the remaining $23 million will go toward programming and financial aid for patients.
