Dr. Ozgur is chief of neurosurgery and spinal surgery at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, Calif.
To make the trip happen, he teamed with Spinal Elements’ Hero Allograft Program to donate $10,000 to Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire.
“As part of performing spine surgeries, often times we need allograft material, which is really a gift of life,” Dr. Ozgur said in a Dec. 21 news release. “When Spinal Elements presented the idea of the Hero Allograft Program, it was really an easy choice.”
In 2012, Spinal Elements launched its Hero program, which donates proceeds from the sale of its Hero Allograft portfolio to charities benefiting children with serious medical conditions.
