The system was used for the first time on Nov. 8, the release said. It uses real-time 3D mapping and can reduce procedure times by up to two-thirds.

“This technology is a game changer for spine surgery,” Edward Rustamzadeh, MD, a spine surgeon at the hospital, said in the release. “It improves safety, shortens surgery times, and helps achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
