Plano, TX – July 11, 2016 – Dr. Hiroyuki Yoshihara, an internationally-recognized spine surgeon with extensive experience in orthopedic surgery and research, will join Plano-based Minimally Invasive SpineCARE in Fall 2016. Dr. Yoshihara’s comprehensive accomplishments and patient-centric approach to care make him a highly valuable addition to one of Dallas-Fort Worth’s most recognized spine institutes.

“As we look forward into our future, Minimally Invasive SpineCARE is poised to continue transforming spine surgery across North Texas,” said Dr. Douglas Won, M.D. and C.E.O. of Minimally Invasive SpineCARE. “Welcoming Dr. Yoshihara into our team will allow us to change the lives of even more area residents battling detrimental pain, debilitating conditions and other injuries and ailments while continuing to redefine the patient experience.”

Dr. Yoshihara earned his medical degree at Nagoya City University Medical School in Japan before completing his residency and internship, making him one of Japan’s youngest Board-certified spine surgeons. His expanded research into regeneration of the post-injury spinal cord at Drexel University’s College of Medicine in Philadelphia led to a Ph.D. from Nagoya City University Graduate School.

Additionally, Dr. Yoshihara has completed several prestigious fellowships, including spine surgery fellowships at Niigata Spine Surgery Center and Hokkaido University; a clinical spine and scoliosis surgery fellowship at New York City’s esteemed Hospital for Special Surgery; and additional spine surgery fellowships at the University of Colorado and the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. He has since become one of the most first-author published spine surgeons in the world due to his numerous contributions to the medical community.

“I invest 100% of my energy into performing the most effective and compassionate surgeries for my patients,” said Dr. Yoshihara. “I continue to learn each day as technology and medicine advance, which motivates me to be the best surgeon for my patients.”
