Here are five highlights:
1. The gala is intended to raise money for medical interventions for children with severe spinal deformities.
2. Anthony Rinella, MD, of Illinois Spine & Scoliosis Center in Homer Glen, co-founded Global Spine Outreach in 2013 with Kris Siemionow, MD, of University of Illinois Health in Chicago, and Lawrence Lenke, MD, of The Spine Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian/Allen.
3. The group works with local medical communities to develop self-sustaining spine surgery centers.
4. So far, the organization’s surgeons and healthcare professionals have treated 637 children and performed 143 surgeries.
5. All gala donations go toward the group’s outreach operations.
