The allograft implant procedure is a treatment option for individuals with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures by using a biological alternative to traditional cement, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.

The OsteoPearl VBA System uses natural bone material as opposed to synthetic materials, leading to improved bone healing and patient outcomes.

The procedure was performed by Nathan Swain, DO, and Marshall Meier, MD.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
