The study compared a group of 3,000 patients that received epidural steroid injections and a group of 3,000 patients that did not. The study found that the more injections a patient received the higher the risk of osteoporotic fractures.
The study concluded that steroid injection has a relation to increased bone fragility and should be used with caution.
