Here are five details:
1. Along with serving as Chairman, Dr. Boden will serve as chief of orthopedic and musculoskeletal medicine for Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare.
2. Dr. Boden served as interim chief since February. He replaces James Roberson, MD.
3. Dr. Boden is an orthopedic surgery professor, director and chief quality officer of Emory Orthopaedics and Spine Center and vice president of business and innovation for Emory Healthcare.
3. With expertise in musculoskeletal conditions, Dr. Boden was named principal investigator for a $13 million Marcus Foundation grant for a trial to study various stem cell options to treat osteoarthritis.
4. As Chairman, Dr. Boden will provide leadership for all clinical, educational and research projects within the orthopedic division.
5. Dr. Boden has been with Emory since 1992 after completing his spine surgery fellowship.
