The episode, which airs April 26 on ABC11, focuses on two patients who are rushed to the hospital after being shot at a political protest.

“It was a hobby at first, but now that I’ve done it long enough, it actually is a hire position,” Dr. Gottfried told the news outlet.

Dr. Gottfried is a professor and neurosurgeon at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C. He has served as a medical consultant for several TV medical dramas, including Chicago Med, Royal Pains and Elementary.

In 2019, he made his first cameo on Chicago Med, where he played an assistant neurosurgeon.
