Oren Gottfried, MD, is a complex spine specialist who has served as a medical consultant for various TV medical dramas, reviewing scripts, writing outlines and breaking new medical stories.

He made a cameo appearance as an assistant surgeon on the show in 2019, but this is the first time he has starred in a speaking role, according to the report.

“It was quite exciting to be on this end where I know I actually have a line. I’m part of the rhythm of the scene,” he said. “I’ve also just found it fascinating to be involved in every level in production,” Dr. Gottfried told WRAL.com.

What initially started as a hobby, has now turned into a hired position for Dr. Gottfried.

He has worked as a consultant for about 35 shows, including The Good Doctor, Royal Pains and Elementary.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
