They performed the procedure at the Microsurgical Spine Center outside of Seattle. The procedure extracts bone marrow from the patient’s pelvis and then spins it in a centrifuge to separate the cells. The stem cells are then injected back into the patient’s affected discs with image guidance.
The procedure was developed by Celling Biosciences. The procedure takes less than an hour.
