Here are three spine surgeons or neurosurgeons who recently received awards.

Pediatric neurologist and lieutenant governor Ralph Northam, MD, won Virginia governor’s race over Republican Ed Gillespie. He is board certified in neurology and child neurology and has clinical interests in epilepsy and neuromuscular disorders.

 

Neel Anand, MD, received the Andrew M. Swanson, MD, Memorial Spine Award from New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery’s alumni association. The award honors HSS alumni who excel in spine education, research, practice or humanitarian efforts while demonstrating leadership, academia, clinical innovation and societal involvement.

 

Ronald Lakatos, MD, is now a part of the International Association of HealthCare Professionals. He specializes in orthopedic spine surgery and reconstruction as well as adult degenerative spine conditions and trauma.
