Here are four spine surgeons who were in the news this past week.

On Jan. 30, 2017, a Boston jury determined that the concurrent surgery schedule of former Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital surgeon Kirkham Wood, MD, did not cause in a patient’s quadriplegia during a 2012 surgical procedure.

 

Payam Farjoodi, MD, said that former NFL player, Zachary Orr is lucky to not have lasting neurological effects after it was discovered that his C1 vertebra never fully developed.

 

Swiss company, Medacta International hired S. Raymond Golish, MD, PhD, as medical director of the U.S. spine division.

 

Minimally invasive spine surgery specialist, Douglas Slaughter, MD, joined Bridgewater-based NJ Spine & Orthopedics, which has clinics all over New Jersey.
