Dr. Zachary Smith joins Oklahoma health system

Neurosurgeon Zachary Smith, MD, recently joined Oklahoma City-based OU Medicine, reports Fox 25.

Dr. Smith specializes in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery.

He graduated from the University of California Los Angeles, where he also completed his neurosurgical residency, according to his LinkedIn profile.

In 2011, Dr. Smith completed a minimally invasive spine fellowship at Chicago-based Northwestern University, where he later became associate professor of neurological surgery and director of spinal research.

Dr. Smith runs a National Institutes of Health-funded laboratory and published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and editorials​.
