Dr. Wouter Schievink operates on New York Mets pitcher’s spine

Paul Blackburn, a pitcher for the New York Mets, had spine surgery at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, the MLB team said Oct. 22.

Mr. Blackburn had a cerebrospinal fluid leak repair on Oct. 11, according to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. Wouter Schievink, MD, performed the case.

The pitcher is expected to recover in four to five months, the team said.
