Here are five things to know:
1. Dr. Kushwaha specializes in adult lumbar and cervical disorders as well as spine trauma.
2. He performs surgical revisions, microdiscectomy and minimally invasive spinal instrumentation and fusion.
3. The first in Houston to perform the kyphoplasty procedure, Dr. Kushwaha was also the first surgeon in the area to perform a lumbar artificial disc replacement.
4. He serves on the orthopedic surgery clinical faculty at the University of Texas Medical School and is the co-director of the spinal fellowship.
5. Dr. Kushwaha completed his spinal surgery fellowship at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Downey, Calif.
