Mr. Woods underwent a successful microdecompression surgery in his lumbar spine for nerve impingement, his statement said.
“The surgery went smoothly, and I’m hopeful this will help alleviate the back spasms and pain I was experiencing throughout most of the 2024 season,” Mr. Woods said in the statement.
This is his sixth career back surgery, according to a Sports Illustrated report. He had previous surgeries to address disc issues in his lower back, along with a spinal fusion.
Dr. Qureshi is chief medical officer of HSS Florida, and he was appointed to the role in July.
