Dallas-based spine surgeon Sean M. Jones-Quaidoo, MD, adopted new technology for his SpineVue clinic.

The new technology — CoverEdge Surgical Leads — is designed for use with the Precision Spectra Spinal Cord Stimulation System. The system treats chronic back pain patients by interrupting pain signals with electric pulses.

“The technology is unique and can individualize the therapeutic signal down to a single contact to really pinpoint the therapy,” said Dr. Jones-Quaidoo. “We are talking about potentially hitting a bull’s eye in obtaining pain relief.”

The CoverEdge technology received FDA clearance late last year and is the world’s first and only 32-contract surgical leads. The technology blankets the spinal cord with twice the number of contracts traditional systems offer. The leads can also be used in conjunction with the Illumina 3D software for more precise pain targeting.
