Dr. Scott Urch joins HSHS Medical Group

Springfield, Ill.-based HSHS Medical Group added orthopedic and sports medicine specialist Scott Urch, MD, to its medical team, reports Effingham Daily News.

Four things to know:

1. Dr. Urch specializes in sports medicine for athletes and treats operative and non-operative fractures.

2. He is seeing patients at HSHS Medical Group Multispecialty Care – Effingham (Ill.).

3. Dr. Urch is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of America.

4. He completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at Methodist Sports Medicine Center in Indianapolis.
