Dr. Scott Ellison performs 1st cervical disc replacement in Murrells Inlet, SC region: 4 things to know

T. Scott Ellison, MD, of Murrells Inlet, S.C.-based Tidelands Health, performed the region’s first cervical disc replacement, according to a WBTW News 13 report.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Dr. Ellison is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon focusing on spinal stenosis, disc herniations and degeneration, bone spurs, radiculopathy, myelopathy and motor weakness.

 

2. He performed the procedure at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet earlier this month.

 

3. Dr. Ellison practices with Tidelands Waccamaw Orthopaedics and Spine, also in Murrells Inlet.

 

4. He completed his fellowship-training at Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems in Baltimore.
