Dr. Robert Watkins Performs Surgery on Giants’ Freddy Sanchez

Robert Watkins, MD, has performed a microdiscectomy on San Francisco Giants second baseman Freddy Sanchez, according to a Mercury News report.

Mr. Sanchez will be out for the season following the surgery.

Dr. Watkins is a spine surgeon and co-director of the Marina Spine Clinic in Marina del Ray, Calif. He has performed surgeries on athletes from all over the country.
