Dr. Robert Galler steps into neurosurgery director role at Peconic Bay Medical Center: 5 highlights

Riverhead, N.Y.-based Peconic Bay Medical Center, a part of New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health, named Robert M. Galler, DO, the new director of neurosurgery.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Dr. Galler will also serve as director of neurological spine for Northwell Health’s Eastern Region.

 

2. From 2004 to 2015, Dr. Galler served as Peconic Bay Medical Center’s spine surgery director.

 

3. He then moved on to Portland-based Maine Spine Surgery as a consulting surgeon.

 

4. A member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Dr. Galler is also affiliated with American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, AO Spine International, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and North American Spine Society.

 

5. Dr. Galler completed his complex spinal neurosurgery fellowship at Phoenix-based Barrow Neurological Institute and his minimally invasive spinal neurosurgery fellowship at Memphis-based University of Tennessee.
