Dr. Rao is a professor of orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a practicing orthopedic spine surgeon at Froedtert Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and serves on the board of directors of the North American Spine Society. He has a professional interest in minimally invasive spine surgery, surgical management of neck and back disorders, spinal tumors, spine trauma and spinal deformity.
Dr. Rao has served as a voting member on the Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Devices Panel since 2006. The panel reviews the safety and efficacy of orthopedic and spine-related devices for marketing in the United States and advises the FDA, according to the report.
