Here are five points:
1. Dr. Payman said that the microlaminectomy is a less invasive option for patients who are not experiencing relief from non-surgical treatment.
2. The procedure involves smaller incisions than those used in traditional procedures, and less back muscles and tissues are cut.
3. A microlaminectomy will relieve pressure on the spinal cord, but will retain more spine strength because less bone is removed.
4. Dr. Payman is a board-certified spine surgeon with a specialization in reconstructive cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine surgery.
5. He performs spinal fusion, spinal disc replacement and procedures for spinal stenosis, herniated discs, scoliosis and failed back surgery syndrome, among other conditions.
“I have developed minimally invasive techniques that allow for faster surgery and small incisions of less than one inch which allows faster recovery,” said Dr. Payman.
