Neville Alleyne, MD, performed the multi-level surgery at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, Calif. The Aurora Discovery cage with TiNano plasma spray coating allows for bone ingrowth due to its porous structure.
“The new TiNano titanium spray blast coating has increased the surface area for superior osteointegration,” said Dr. Alleyne in a news release. “TiNano is the next generation of interbody fusion cages.”
This was the introduction of the TiNano product line, which is the most recent addition to the Aurora MIS portfolio. The company recently exhibited at the 2014 European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology Conference in London with a display that included the TiNano interbody spinal fusion cage portfolio as well as the ZIP ULTRA minimally invasive ISP fusion system.

The ZIP MIS system recently received FDA clearance, and the first surgical implant using the ZIP ULTRA Minimally Invasive Interspinous Fusion Implant occurred in March, in Poland.
