Dr. Michael McDermott to lead neuroscience at Florida medical school

Neurosurgeon Michael McDermott, MD, was appointed chief of neuroscience at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, where he will lead all clinical and curricular activities.

Last year, Dr. McDermott left the University of California San Francisco to become chief medical executive at Miami Neuroscience Institute. He is focusing on developing the neuroscience program and making the institute a destination for care.

Dr. McDermott specializes in the treatment of neurological disorders, including brain metastases, skull base tumors and spinal cord tumors.
