1. Dr. Schmidt is a minimally invasive and endoscopic surgery expert. He currently chairs New York Medical College’s neurosurgery program and directs Valhalla, N.Y.-based Westchester Medical Center’s neurosurgery department.

2. Dr. Schmidt will assume his position in February 2020.

3. Dr. Schmidt earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he also completed his residency. He completed a fellowship at UC San Francisco.

4. Dr. Schmidt has published more than 170 manuscripts on neurosurgery, oncology, trauma and spine surgery throughout his career.
