Dr. Lon Alexander joins Louisiana neurosurgery practice

Hammond, La.-based North Oaks Neurosurgery Clinic recently hired Lon Alexander, MD, The Advocate reports.

Dr. Alexander specializes in the treatment of spinal, cranial and peripheral nerve disorders and neurological sports injuries.  

He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his residency at the University of Mississippi in Jackson.

Following medical school, Dr. Alexander completed fellowships in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery at Polenov Neurosurgical Institute in Leningrad, Russia, and the Nagoya University School of Medicine in Japan.   

He has written more than 20 peer-reviewed publications on topics including spine surgery, complex aneurysm surgery and concussion.
