Dr. Jonathan Lewin performs New Jersey’s 1st spine surgery with PathKeeper navigation

Jonathan Lewin, MD, of The Center for Musculoskeletal Disorders in Englewood, N.J., performed the state’s first case with the PathKeeper spinal navigation system.

He used the system for an 80-year-old patient with severe lumbar stenosis, PathKeeper said in a May 3 news release. The system uses artificial intelligence and laser-optic 3D cameras for navigation and eliminates radiation exposure in the operating room.

PathKeeper has also been used in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maryland.
