Here are five things to know about Dr. Spitalieri:
1. He has provided care and treatment to residents of Cumberland, Hoke, Lee and other surrounding counties since 2008.
2. He is a board-certified neurosurgeon with an advanced spine fellowship training. He has a special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery.
3. Dr. Spitalieri is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association and American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
4. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Spitalieri has authored several articles published in professional journals, including the Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine, and given presentations on spine and neurosurgery topics.
5. Dr. Spitalieri earned his doctorate of osteopathic medicine at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a neurosurgical residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, Calif. He also completed an adult spine trauma and degenerative spine fellowship at Cooper Hospital in Camden, N.J., and a post-residency fellowship in neurosurgery trauma.
