Dr. John Kuo to serve as inaugural neurosurgery chair at UT Austin Dell Medical School: 6 highlights

John S. Kuo, MD, PhD, will serve as the inaugural neurosurgery chair of the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.

Here are six highlights:

 

1. As neurosurgery chair, Dr. Kuo will strive to enhance care for brain and spine patients by collaborating with neuroscience and cancer colleagues.

 

2. Previously, Dr. Kuo was a neurological surgery professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also served as director of the Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program.

 

3. He headed the Central Nervous System Tumors Group at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, as well.

 

4. Nature Reviews and Science Translational Medicine have published his research.

 

5. Dr. Kuo is the tumor editor for World Neurosurgery and Operative Neurosurgery.

 

6. He serves as the membership committee chair for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
