Dr. Jeffrey Wise honored at NASS meeting for his advocacy work: 5 key notes

Jeffrey Wise, MD, of Blue Ridge Orthopaedic and Spine Center in Warrenton, Va., received the Inaugural NASS Spine Advocacy Award at the NASS meeting in October, according to Fauquier.com.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. A member of the NASS advocacy committee, Dr. Wise contributed to the creation of the Spine Advocates program at NASS, which bolstered the organization’s clout in Washington, D.C.

 

2. The spine advocacy program focuses on bettering care for spine patients through grants.

 

3. Dr. Wise specializes in degenerative and traumatic cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine diseases, cervical myelopathy, spinal stenosis and herniated discs. He performs minimally invasive procedures.

 

4. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Dr. Wise completed a surgery internship at Boston University Medical Center and an orthopedic surgery residency at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.

 

5. Dr. Wise completed a reconstructive spinal surgery fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago.
