Dr. Jeffrey S. Oppenheim wins medical excellence award

Board-certified neurosurgeon Jeffrey S. Oppenheim, MD, at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, N.Y., has been honored with the Sister Joseph Rita Award for Medical Excellence.

Dr. Oppenheim has been practicing at GSHMC since 1994 and also treats patients at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, N.Y., and St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick, N.Y.

He is section chief of neurosurgery at GSHMC and partner at Hudson Brain Valley & Spine Surgery in Orange County, N.Y. Dr. Oppenheim completed his medical degree and residency in neurosurgery in New York City at Cornell University Medical College and Mount Sinai Medical Center respectively.

“It is a huge honor to be recognized by the high-quality physicians that I have had the privilege of working with for so many years,” said Dr. Oppenheim.
