The procedure was a lumbar spine surgery and fusion performed Sept. 2 at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nev., according to a Sept. 23 news release. The Perc Pin was inserted into the posterior superior iliac spine.

The Perc Pin helps keep the patient marker in a surgeon’s field of view while avoiding the surgical site, and it was FDA cleared in July. It also reduces incision size for percutaneous procedures.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
