Dr. Melamed launched the program, which is called Back to You, to help patients who do not have insurance or access to spine treatment.
Patients who want to be considered for the free treatment should submit a description of their condition, how it impacts their lives and what they are looking for out of treatments. A panel will evaluate the submissions and choose the patients.
