Dr. Hooman Melamed Creates Spine Care Program for Uninsured Patients

Hooman Melamed, MD, will select one patient each month who cannot afford medical care to receive free treatment for tumors, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, cervical and lumbar spine disorders and other spine ailments, according to Patch.

Dr. Hooman Melamed of DISC Sports and Spine CenterDr. Melamed launched the program, which is called Back to You, to help patients who do not have insurance or access to spine treatment.

Patients who want to be considered for the free treatment should submit a description of their condition, how it impacts their lives and what they are looking for out of treatments. A panel will evaluate the submissions and choose the patients.

Dr. Melamed practices as DISC Sports and Spine Center in Marina del Ray, Calif.
