Dr. Franco Vigna hopes to expand his practice in New York — 6 things to know

Niagara Falls, N.Y.-based Spine Surgery of Buffalo Niagara is expanding its practice into a former Denny’s restaurant, according to Buffalo Business First.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. The practice filed plans with the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency, asking for a 10-year property tax abatement. The application also requests adding three more employees. The agency plans to decide whether to approve on Aug. 10.

 

2. The expansion is estimated to cost $1.1 million to renovate the former restaurant.

 

3. Franco Vigna, MD, owns the practice, which offers surgical treatment, injection therapy, chiropractic care and physical therapy. Ten employees currently serve at the practice.

 

4. Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Vigna specializes in treating spine disorders.

 

5. Dr. Vigna wants to expand because his practice has outgrown its current space. Once expanded, he will be able to add X-ray, pain management, psychology and same-day appointment services.

 

6. If approved, Dr. Vigna anticipates treating patients in the new building by December 1.
