Erkan Alci, MD, performed the first U.S. case using Globus Medical’s CREO traction screw, according to a March 30 LinkedIn post.
Dr. Alci used the screws for a bilateral minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion completed at Conway (S.C.) Medical Center.
“My patient population tends to be older with decreased bone quality, so screw loosening and pullout are always a concern,” Dr. Alci said in the post. “The CREO traction screw seems to be a great option for this clinical scenario.”
