Dr. Chris Hill completes his 50th AR spine surgery

Chris Hill, DO, completed his 50th case using Augmedics’ Xvision augmented reality spine system, the medtech company said in a March 21 tweet.

The AR headset helps surgeons with pedicle screw placement. 

“You used to have to dodge the view of a camera to do the surgery,” he said in the post. “But now, I can see through a patient’s skin.”

Dr. Hill is a spine surgeon with Jackson, Wyo.-based Teton Orthopaedics.  

Another spine surgeon, Rick Price, MD, PhD, reached his 50-case milestone in February.
