Dr. Bassel Diebo joins University Orthopedics Center

Bassel Diebo, MD, joined University Orthopedics’ Center for Spine Health.

Dr. Diebo is seeing patients at the practice’s East Providence, Johnston and Cranston, R.I. locations, according to a July 26 news release shared with Becker’s. He treats all spine disorders and scoliosis conditions.

Dr. Diebo earned his medical degree at Aleppo University in Syria before fleeing the country. He completed his residency at The State University of New York in New York City.

“Committed to improving his patients’ quality of life, Dr. Diebo has spent years not only studying and researching spinal deformities but he’s also been on the forefront of finding innovative solutions and treatments,” Edward Akelman, MD,president of University Orthopedics, said in the release. “The tenacity, determination, and compassion with which he approaches some of the most complex spinal deformities will undoubtedly be an asset to our team and, more importantly, to our patients.”
